October 3rd, 2010 Kansas City will host it’s first annual Walk to raise awareness and funds to end child trafficking! Be apart of this global campaign to combat the third largest criminal enterprise, after drugs and weapons (US Dept of State). In the last 3 years there have been more alleged traffickers prosecuted in Western Missouri than anywhere else in the nation (KC Star Human Trafficking Team) and reports indicate Kansas City is ranked 4th in the nation for human trafficking activity.
Event Details:
Location: Ilus Davis Park in downtown, Kansas City, MO will host the opening and finish line ceremonies.
Walk route: the 5K walk route will be through downtown KC.
The park is located at 11th and Oak Street, between the US District Court and City Hall at 901 Oak Street, Kansas City, MO 64106 (map).
Start Time: 8am
Check in begins: 7am
