Returning Glory Ranch
By Marci Lewellen on March 15th, 2010

Last week our team had the privilege of meeting with Gary and Roxanne Van Riesse, who are the directors and facilitators of Returning Glory Equestrian Assisted Learning Center. The time spent with them was truly a blessing to our hearts, and we are so grateful that the Lord has seen it fit to bring us together for such a time as this.

Returning Glory Ranch is a peaceful rural setting not far from the busyness of life – a place where people can experience healing, restoration, and personal growth through equine-assisted experiential learning in a non-threatening faith based atmosphere. The ministry works with victims of domestic violence, at-risk youth, families (including “blended” families and families with adopted children), as well as with married couples. Interaction with horses in various situations provides opportunities to recognize and overcome issues that often hinder personal growth and interpersonal relationships. Returning Glory welcomes anyone wanting hope for a better tomorrow. With horses to provide teaching support, activities are designed to develop bonding while allowing for a safe place to gain courage, trust, and self-respect. Our team got to watch a short presentation of how training is conducted, as well as to hear many of the wonderful success stories of how the Father’s love was able to shine through the heart of a horse and unlock the heart of a child. We look forward to this new season of partnering and learning from Returning Glory Ranch, and will keep you updated on the journey as it unfolds.
