OJC January Prayer Initiative: Cambodia
By Guest Author on January 5th, 2013

This month we’re praying for the fatherless in Cambodia every Friday at 6:00am in the IHOPKC Global Prayer Room. Jesus hears the cries of the oppressed and invites us to partner in their rescue, to plead for the fathers’ hearts to turn to the children. Join with us in prayer, lifting these children before the throne to the great Rescuer, the lover of their souls. Watch the webstream »

About Children at Risk in Cambodia

Poverty, food insecurity, and HIV/AIDS have resulted in a high proportion of orphans and vulnerable children in Cambodia.

  • 630,000 children are orphans, which is 10 percent of all children.*
  • 321,096 children are in orphanages.*
  • 1/3 of Cambodia’s 15,000 prostitutes are children under the age of 16.*
  • Hundreds of thousands of girls and boys are bought, sold, or kidnapped and then forced into slavery.**
  • 1/3 of Cambodians, half of the population being children, live below the poverty line, under $1.00 per day.*
  • 45 percent of Cambodian children show moderate to severe stunting from malnutrition.*
  • 85,921 are vulnerable, due to HIV.*

Join Us in Praying for:

  • The family culture, that fathers’ hearts will turn to children, and children to their fathers. (Mal. 4:6)
  • Revival in Cambodia, that Buddism will fall, and Jesus will be exalted.
  • Cambodia’s government to become supernaturally stable and law enforcement to be strengthened.
  • The salvation of all those involved in human trafficking.
  • The ending of corruption in the government.
  • The physical, emotional, and spiritual freedom of slave trade victims.
